Election .... well all of them

Okay - so all this talk of electoral votes and 'battleground states' got me thinking .... when was the last time my state gave its electoral votes to a Republican president? I was quite surprise to see that it did indeed happen within my lifetime ... wow, I don't remember that.

So where has your state voted over the centuries of this country? Well thanks to wikipedia -- the place to go for just about ANY question you could have -- I found images that show how each of the states voted from the first presidential race to the present one.

It is pretty interesting stuff -- especially the years where there were either (a)more than two parties running (b)years when a new party ran or (c)when there was a landslide vote.
