Movie Monday

Need to find a new place to hide those dog biscuits!

Things that make you go "COOL"!!!!!

Its not Monday - but here we go ...

Okay so I was checking out the Rav page - like I always seem to be doing when I don't have knitting needles or a crochet hook or a tatting shuttle in my hand (although its getting close enough to graduation to where I will soon have Scrapbooking stuff taking up every space in the house ... but probably not until after Easter so I can spread it out on the big dining tables and not move it until I've finished) ....

any how - on Rav i belong to a Tea group and one of the members was looking for 50's style items to make, but someone linked to a page which had a link to another page about a Hawiian Island hairstyle (all the rage in the 40's & 50's) and that page had a comment section, and when I went to leave a comment - and give some hints ma gave me way back when - I found a link to this video ....

The Vintage Bow Bun!!!

Now the video is in Japanese - they have a great love for all things 1950-s American there - but if you click on the triangle on the bottom video ribbon (looks like an up arrow) and then turn on the annotations - it will say 'turn off annotations' when its on - then along the top of the video will be the instructions in English ...

Have fun! I know my daughters and I will

Movie Monday

I came across some great knitting videos for doing socks/sleeves/necklines/hat bands/etc. that I don't want to lose -- so I'm "storing" them here .... feel free to check them out

lost track of time ... but I saw this and thought it was so funny I had to share ... for those who know me, you know how fairies are a part of my life, so I couldn't pass this up.

Movie Monday

Nope I haven't forgotten .... Here is a clip of the many things a Newfoundland can do ... but no ... Addy is not one of these dogs -- although I do see that other Newfies hesitate before jumping into the water like she does.

Movie Monday

YES it is back this week ...

Here are some holiday cooking hints from Jeff Dunham and his little friends ...

PLEASE remember that this is COMEDY and should not REALLY be tempted ... thank you to Comedy channel for the embed code.

Movie Monday

... well sort of.

Actually its a clip I ran into on YouTube thru Drudgereport where in a 2001 radio interview, Obama is talking about how Redistribution of Wealth should have been a part of the Civil Rights movement and how it would have to be done on the Legislative side of the government -- in fact it refers to it as the Government State ... hmmm, isn't that how the USSR referred to themselves?? -- while the Presidency is part of the Executive Branch of government, if you have been paying attention you would know that in ads both parties make it sound as if it is part of the Legislative branch.

Anyhow - the way he states it, his 'Redistribution" is nothing more than the old concept of 'Reparations' ,... I think this is important to get out there - especially in a political field where simple words are getting charged as being 'code words' for racist remarks when they have nothing to do with it (some one please tell me how the words 'socialist' & 'civil organizer' can be racist?)

Movie Monday

Wanted to share this podcast with you all ... she has some really great tips for knitting and does a wonderful job at showing close ups of what she is doing -- wonderful!

Here is her latest episode on Toe-Up Socks .... long time readers will remember that I was in tears over the pair I made last year -- boy do I wish I had known about Cat then.

Check it out and try one of these cast ons ... and they aren't just for socks -- you can use them for doing hats too ... you could probably use them for mittens but I'm not sure how you would do the thumb thing.

Movie Monday

Well -- for those of you who have ever gotten knitting and realized you made a major mistake somewhere and wondered where in the word your head was at ....

Or for you SO (significant others) who wonder what your mate was thinking of when they come home with yet another bag of yarn when they haven't used what they already have .....

This is just proof that knitters & crocheters have a totally different mind set from so called "Normal" people .....

Movie Monday

And now for something completely different .... and really really funny!

Movie Monday

Sorry I waited until Tuesday to get this out ... lost track of time yesterday.

I decided to go back to the knitting roots of this blog and found a really nice YouTube Video by TheKnitWitch (check out all her vids, she's great) on how to do the Magic Loop - although I think that might be trademarked - which is very easy to follow.

Every other reference that I have seen only take you to the point of pulling the extra cable out between the even stitches but never covers how it is you are supposed to work with stitches on each needle, you can get enough turn to work .... well, duh, watch the vid and see if you can spot the step the others have been lacking in their instructions:

Movie Monday: Fred Thompson

okay so I was surfing around and decided not to go with a YouTube this week ... because I found a clip of Fred Thompson (the guy I wanted to have as the Candidate) being interviewed by Shepard Smith of FoxNews -- I like him a lot, he isn't above putting in his two cents, but he really took a trun during the NewOrleans floods that I wasn't pleased with, but then he does seem to report the news without too much bias.

Movie Monday

Okay - its bad enough that the guy went after the ref ... but afterwards he also went after one of the Judges .... and even later his coach started to make charges of 'payola' from KAZ to the ref.
is it any wonder that the kicker is getting a life-time band and the coach is on the line too?
