"The topic of Thursday's show on 100.3 KTLK was about things that never lived up to their hype.He should know better than this! And people need to get a little thicker skin.
But when one caller suggested the WNBA, some say Baker’s response went too far.
'You know what [the WBNA] is? That's a place for lesbians to make out when they score,' Baker said."
1. I have a gay niece
2. she hates basketball with a passion
HOWEVER people are acting as if he called the players 'gay/lesbian' .... well he was vague enough where he could have been talking about the fans, and you can't say that there aren't any lesbians there (or at any other sport) --- he NEVER said all the players were lesbians.
And that is the difference between him and Imus, who directed his comments directly at the players (he also used a few other derogatory terms - as far as I know 'lesbian' is not derogatory at this time, although there are more colorful terms he could have used)
Don't take this as support for his comments -- I think we have come too far as a people to start throwing sexual preferences as some sort of insult.
Besides anyone who has ever seen any level of porn would know that men really like that sort of thing.
