NEVER LET THE TRUTH STAND IN THE WAY OF GETTING A VOTE

OMG ... Okay ... so lets look at the FACTS surrounding the IVF stuff .... "test tube" babies ... Invitro-Fertilization

!)A patient broke into a labratory and destroyed (dropped) several petri dishes which contained fertilized eggs

2)In order for the patient to be brought to court on charges of either murder or manslaughter they had to establish IF the embryos could be considered "life"

3)the court decided that YES, an embryo IS life, whether it is in a wormb or not.

4)the patient was charged with manslaughter for killing the embryos ...

The closing of the IVF clinics is a bit of an knee-jerk reaction.

It had more to do with the concept of how things are done, rather than actually doing them ...

it has to do with the after effects of the process.

You see, in order to increase the chances of having an embryo become viable (make it all the way to birth) the IVF clinics tend to fertilize a LOT more eggs than they actually use or need.

Some of these embryos will be stored for later use by the contributors, disposed of, or donated to science ... yup, they do experiments on them.  Some parents will even donate the eggs to other couples who cannot donate/gather their own eggs/sperm any longer.

The question actually does NOT involve Roe v. Wade AT ALL.

Roe v. Wade had to deal with the termination of a pregnancy -- the Supreme Courtt simply said that it was a STATE issue, and each state would have to decide for themselves how they wanted to handle it.
It found there was a flaw in the original ruling (like the Dred Scott decision) ... only in this case it found that the constitutional clause which the decision was based on, actually DOES NOT EXIST in the Constitution of the United States.

Now that Alabama sees the embryos as living things, the clinics have to decide what they will do ... that's it.

There is NOTHING which shuld keep them from gathering both eggs/sperm seperately and keeping them seperate ... there is nothing that should keep them from implanting embryos, as long as they inplant all the embryos which had been fertilized ...

So there is really NO reason for the clinics to actually close, or turn people away because of this ruling.

It has EVERYTHING to do with the extra embryos

It will take a bit of rethinking on their part ...
It could be as easy as shipping the embryos to another state where they are not yet considered Life ... it could be a refining of the fertilization process so that they do not need to fertilize 30 eggs to implant 2 or 3 ...

They've got the technology, the knowledge ... they WILL figure this out.

No one ismessing with anyone's "Reproductive Rights" .... you would have thought after 50 years they would have .... should have ... refined their procedure by now.
