REALITY CHECK

 Okay - you have a worker who only reads 21% of the memos sent by their boss ...
They are only on budget for their department 20% of the time ...

OR

They ignore the boss 79% of the time ...
They overspend the company budget 80% of the time ...

Do you give them a raise or fire them??

I'd fire them, myself ...

Especially if they came to me with the proposal that the Chicago Teacher's Union did! (see what I did there?)

The proposal would add ANOTHER $50 BILLION to the school budget ... not the taxpayer budget, the SCHOOL DISTRICT"S BUDGET ...

Right now, Chicago's tax base/income is $50.7 Billion ... what these teachers want is for people in the city to pay TWICE as much ...

However, only 21% of the students in Chicago can read AT grade level ...
And 1 in 5 ... a.k.a. 20% .. can do math AT grade level ...

So what do the teacher want?  What's in their List of Demands, as Outnumbered (FNC) described it?

well first a 9% raise for the next 3 years ... not 3% each of those years ... 9% for EACH of those years, so 18% total!  Damn, wish hubby could get that!
It would take the salary after the first raise to $144,000+ a year - that is TWICE the average income of those living in Chicago now!

100% coverage for ABORTIONS ... this is a little more gray, after all, I'm sure they already get Birth Control for extrememly low if not full coverage ... but this is a little different.  Not quite sure how I feel about it.

100% coverage for Gender Affirming Care ... no ... I'm sorry, but no.  If you want to switch your gender, more power to you - but you do it on your own dime! I still consider a sex change operation the same as plastic surgery ... it is elective.

Then they want a Guarenttee that they will not have to reveal a child's Gender Identity to PARENTS ... Um ... NO.  Not because I don't believe that there are parents out there who might have an issue with their kids gender identitiy ... I just don't see what this has to do with TEACHING or DOING THEIR JOBS ...

This last one really got me going though ...

They want the School District (remember, they are dealing with the district not the city) to pay each MIGRANT family $2000 for EACH student they have in the district.

Then there's a bunch of stuff about city transportation, Green spaces, Global Warming/Climate Change, Social Equity, &c, &c ... that's "etc, etc" btw ...

But $2,000 per kid!!!

Even the State/Federal government sets a limit as to how many kids you can claim!
Wholly Crap!
Some of these migrant families can claim 8-10 kids ... that's $45,000 - $50,000 a year just for birthing babies!!!!

WTH??

It took over 140 pages for the teacher's union to come up wih this TRIPE!

I say ... fire them all, and start fresh.

But I also heard that the MAYOR of Chicago, used to be the Teacher Union's LEADER ... or rather the HEAD of the Teacher's Union ...
I always said - if you want to make a change, the best way is from the INSIDE ...

I just hope he gets his head out his behind and sees how OUT OF CONTROL this Union has gotten!!!
