Apparently, Hudson Wisconsin must never have to deal with stolen vehiclesb ... but, believe it or not, boats DO have a way to track who OWNS them ...
It's called a VIN number ...
yep, just like on your car ....
If there is no State ID number on the boat - which usually doesn't happen until after a boat is sold - tthere is ALWAYS a way to track the boat itself!
In fact, the boating industry began it about the same time that the car industry did, if not a little sooner.
So, HUDSON! Look at the underside of the DASHBOARD or ENGINE COMPARTMENT and you will find a code ....
Which can be TRACED tto a DEALERSHIP ....
who can eiher tell you WHO OWNS it ....
Or THEY can pay for the fine themselves!!!
