IF YOUR GONNA QUOTE - GET IT RIGHT!!

I have real issues with ABC news - I used to think it was just one particular news person, who used to work for a former administration, that I had issues with - I openly admit it, I wouldn't trust him if he said that water was wet!

But, I just got around to watching yesterday's This week with .... (ABC) and I think I just have issues with news people who can't get their quotes straight.

Martha Radits (I have not idea how to spell her name, for a second I thought she was Diane Sawyer)  substituted on the show this weekend, and was speaking to Patrick Henry (Fmr. Congressman from NC) about the War with Iran ... not "in" Iran, they used the word "with" interesting choice, I thought ... but anyways ...

She "quoted" President Trump, but she got it WRONG, so wrong - it totally CHANGED the meaning of what he said.

According to her Trump said "I'm not going to get you into any wars"

No - what his said was like, "I don't believe in long-term wars" ... LONG TERM ... like when we went into Iran and wound up staying for, what, 20 years? Something like that.

This is aking to what the BBC did with Trump's speech on Jan. 6th -- you can NOT simply change things to what you want because it suits your narrative better, or because it will direct the person you're interviewing to get the answer you want.

Journalism - and despite what anyone thinks, this is not an opinion type show - knows the rules on quotes as one of the PRIMARY rules ... you can use as many quotes as you'd like, but you've got to get it right - you've got to be clear - a quote is what they said, exactly as they said it, no more, no less.

So - take your foot out of his mouth and put out a statement CORRECTING yourself .... before you all get a close up look at his Florsheim's as he prepares to kick your .... I'm not got to finish that thought.
