Bringing back an Oldie but Goodie headline ...
So I'm watching a recording of Good Morning America (ABC) and they are talking about the trial of the 3 people/men accused of shooting Amund Aubry (probably spelled that wrong, sorry) ... and the headline they put with it was:
Justice In Georgia
Okay - now I felt these 3 guys were guilty, so that isn't the issue ... my question is a tad deeper than that ...
If they had been found NOT guilty ... which would have truly been an injustice (but, c'mon, it is Georgia - see my previous posts on my big brother) ... but I wondered "what if"
Would they still have ran with the "Justice in Georgia" headline, or would they have changed it?
After all - the court system would have said it would have been "justice" and just because you don't agree with it, doesn't make a differenc makes me e.
"Justice" is determined by a "jury of their peers" ... and as much as people would have protested ... crabbed and cranked about there being only one person of color on the jury ... the basic truth is .... the JURY rules.
I wonder what the talk at the Headline Brainstorming meeting was like here ... makes me wonder ... do we really understand the court system - and if not, why not? I would think these days it would be even MORE important to teach the youth how it works ...
I'm just wondering ...
