Election 2012

Okay saw this on FNC this morning ("Fox and Friends")

But there is at least one error - and I'm shocked that Fox would perpetuate the myth/misinformation

Paul Ryan's first job was NOT driving the Wienermobile ...

It was as a SALESMAN for Oscar Mayer and got to drive the hotdog shaped car ONCE ...

Shame on Fox for not pointing this out!

Other things said about the VP hopefuls ...

• not all the gaffes attributed to Biden were "gaffes", he really did mean to say them
• both are Irish-American
• more people favor Ryan over Biden

What I want to see is this Paul Ryan:

The man that can put Obama on his ear ... The smart guy who speaks eloquently enough to make a political summit interesting ... And someone who understands firsthand how important Social Security can be to families ...

When he was 16 yrs old, he found his father dead ... Saved his survivors benefit money to pay for college ... Took that college degree and ran with it!

Election 2008: Debate

So was anyone else scratching their heads wondering when the Town Hall debate was going to happen?

This thing was the biggest joke under the sky ... this wasn't a Town Hall meeting, this was Brokaw giving questions to audience members and asking them to read them as their own (notice how many of the questions were tripped over like it was the first time they ever saw it?) ... even the online questions were, well, questionable.

I've questioned the debating policy throughout this election and now I can see the bias clear of the media fog ... it is decidedly leaning to the left ... from the moderators chosen (every one is part of the liberal machine -- used to think Brokaw was neutral until he took over 'Meet the Press', then his leanings truly began to show) to the questions to the formats ....

the Obama camp seems to have dictated everything -- and I suspect they chose what questions would be asked and who got to ask them ... but I only speculate.

McCain did seem off his game last night -- he was beginning to remind me of George I about the same time during his run for a second term ... the Gulf War had taken its toll on George and he was just plain worn out - he was being smacked in the media and I think at the time he was questioning why he would want to do it for another 4 yrs and it showed in his interview with ... hey .... wasn't that Brokaw too??

I'm seeing a pattern here ...

I did notice that the majority of the wrist slappings seemed to be directed to McCain although he was not the only one there totally ignoring the timing lights -- also that the camera seemed to catch the lights more when McCain talked and less so with Obama (so a person watching couldn't tell that they were rambling on) ...

I love the Town Hall debates ... but this was not a town hall debate and I think that might be why so many people seem to be commenting that McCain seemed so upset last night -- I think when he got there they found that the format had been changed for what they had originally agreed to.

I'd be pissed too!

Elections 2008

So Joe, when Barrack said this .... what the heck were you listening to? yes he DID say that he would meet without preconditions with the likes of Cuba & Iran.

Here listen for yourself ...

And yes Joe, you DID say that you were against building clean coal plants in the US ... do you not remember what you say from day to day?

And then there is THIS little piece ... you weren't interested in being VP - which you DENIED in the debate ... so were you LYING then or are you lying NOW??

So for all the grief I'm sure Joy Behar will give Gov. Palin tomorrow -- Elisabeth was given PLENTY of fodder back!!

You go girl! (either way we are screwed ... i just think we are less screwed with JM than OB)

didn't want to miss some of these great clips which Biden now contradicts himself on (but mostly because of the debates tonight)
Biden starts at about minute 4:00 ...
"Understand how weak Iran is ... they are a decade away from being able to weaponize exactly the way the question was"
... and they think Palin is out of touch on foreign policy??

Thought to Go: Question for candidates

okay so there are three presidential debates coming up and two VP debates ... so I've been thinking of a good question that could be asked of each candidate that would get an idea of their mind set. Here's what I came up with:

A lot of hay has been made over Sen. Obama's & Gov. Palin's "readiness" for office ... being that the senator was in office for only a year before beginning his campaign and that the governor had only been in office two years when nominated for VP....

my question is ...
With less than 2% of Vice-Presidents having to assume the office of President due to death or resignation of the elected President ... and while those elected President assume the office 100% of the time for at least a portion of their elected terms ... why is it that Palin's political background is being held up to the same ruler as Obama's??

an alternative question is:

The Nixon years in the White House have put a 'black eye' on the office of Presidency that it has never been able to shake ... he first VP, Spiro Agnew, has many similarities in his background as those of Sarah Palin (having been Governor of his state only 2 yrs before being nominated for Vice President, and having done questionable that led to investigations-or possible investigations) ... do you see a similar situation here?

alternate question #2:

Polls are indicating that it is very likely that both houses of Congress will break towards the democratic party in the up coming elections ... what do you see the effect of this will be on your agenda proposals and what will it mean to our taxes -- straight talk please, no 'middle class', no 'upper 10%', no double-speak -- we are tired of not hearing the whole, unvarnished, unscripted truth for ONCE in this campaign.

**********************************************

So what, non-Bush based, question would you like to ask?

Why "non-Bush" based?

because he isn't running ... even though McCain is republican he is not a Bush-fluky as many would have you believe (McCain's support of President Bush's position has been as low as 77 percent (in 2005), and his support for his party's position has been as low as 67 percent (2001)-Fast Check.org ... and this June and only for this year did he vote nearly 90% in favor of the Bush proposals - and remember these stats only go back within Bush's years, it does not incl. McCain's entire career)

Take feelings for Bush out of the equation and tell me your question!
