UN to take Our $ in Exchange for Kick in Pants
"A comprehensive global energy transition is urgently needed in order to avert a major planetary catastrophe."
The World Economic and Social Survey, 2011
so what does this mean to us in the US?
Well it means $76 TRILLION over the next 40 years (although if it's that urgent, you can expect it to be sooner than that)
That's an average of $1.9TRILLION a YEAR ... But it wasn't that long ago they said it would only cost $600 BILLION a year to go "Green" ...
This will be another "while you're sleeping" program ... It is a backdoor to a GLOBAL GOVERNMENT ... This is a massive move to redistribute wealth ... A global Communism, if you will.
Half of the money will go to developing countries - who are the biggest polluters per capita - but if you are wondering who is going to put up the majority of these funds ...
"... The United States of America is a country that people around the World admire for it's CAN DO attitude - here people believe that no problem is too big for human ingenuity to solve. The world has never needed that ingenuity more than it does today. The world needs your leadership"the US pays 22%of the UN budget as it stands now ... Even though the UN owes us money for rent of the space in New York and several other issues ... You'll have to do a site search to find the previous posts of the money battle that WAS going on with the UN ...
Sha Zukang
Chinese diplomat
Rio summit
BUT the UN really needs to get it's act together ... You see LAST WEEK (maybe the week before) they released a report that was scathing towards China over their policies which was going to lead to Global COOLING!
Ok - so I can understand the UN coming out with "statements" ... but I don't understand were they have the POWER to force countries to make certain cars or light bulbs or gas blends. ......
That was not what the Body was created for!
The UN has lost sight of their original purpose ... And the nations had better rein them in before it gets even more out of hand.

Health Care Law
besides the fact that their state House & Senate have California tittering on bankruptcy ... their moves as far as health care goes is making it harder on those who go thru Blue Shield.
CA Blue Shield is pushing for another rate hike ... they've already done so twice since the beginning of October, but this one will raise the rates for some by 59%
One has to wonder why?
What is happening in the CA health care system that would make Blue Shield so desperate to get money out there.
the USHHS (US Health & Human Services) is looking into it as well ... I smell a deep audit coming up .... I hope.
Now that Pelosi isn't in power to cover their @$$es ... something might actually get done about it.

Herrschners - CAUTION
Not all the prices are coming up as the sale price offered in the email ... Herrschners WILL straighten it out for you, but you have to catch it first.
I got the email and popped on over - the yarn I wanted (Red Heart Designer Sport) was already part of the weekly sale - but the fall sale was an even better price. I popped over via the email and started putting yarn in my shopping cart and found the lower price was not showing in my cart.
I immediately wrote customer service and pointed out the issue, and they sent back a note saying that the lower prices would show up in the confirmation. OK - so I placed the order.
it didn't happen like that -- so I immediately wrote back customer service ... but must have written after they had closed. I had also used my 'free shipping code' ... and because of the issues with the price, I thought I had qualified for the free shipping but it turned out that I was going to end up short ...
what a headache.
I called Herrschners this morning though and got a very nice gal who worked with me to make sure that after all the sale prices were applied that I would in fact be above the $35 minimum purchase to get the free shipping ...
BUT --
here's the way I am getting my sale prices ...
first they charge me the current prices ...
then once it hits the credit card (I suppose they want to make sure the funds are there) they will issue a REFUND to the card ...
on the plus side -- I will get nearly 1/2 off my order ... on the down side, I had to order more yarn than I had originally planned ... AND it hits the card first so there will be those few days of service charges until the refund hits up to 3 days later.
what a pain.
SO CHECK CHECK CHECK your invoices & confirmations
I love Herrschner's .... I order from them almost exclusively ... but their computer system is just driving me NUTS!

Gee imagine this -- remember all that spending that the Dems said had to happen to stimulate the economy .... now DC is scratching its butt and issuing a Spending Freeze -- yeah, isn't that what people were saying should have happened from the start?
He is supposed to be announcing it tomorrow night in his State Of The Union Address .... or as I like to call it "Look How Great I am" speech (they all do it -- its less about the state the country is in now, and more about campaigning from the pulpit)
He will freeze spending for the next three years EXCEPT for:
- Social Security
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- Afghan/Iraq Wars (thought we were out of Iraq?)
- other Defense spending
- Veteran Affairs
- Homeland Security (I would hope so!)
- Foreign Aid (yeah, I think we can cut back on this for a while considering how we are asking for aid from other countries ourselves)
So what Pork Spending is being passed now?
- $30,000 for Woodstock Film Fest Youth Program
- $2.7 million for a study on surgery in space (alright, there is real applications for this one even if we aren't planning on sending deep space ships, we have to know what to do if an astronaut gets hurt) ... at Univ. of Nebr. med ctr [hey, didn't Nebr. get a sweet deal in the Health Bill too? hmmm]
One of the ways to tackle the deficit is to raise the debt cieling ... the newest proposed ceiling is
$14,290,000,000,000
yeah you read that correct ... 14.3 TRILLION ... this mean printing more money, which will drop the worth of the USD even more.
Lets see, Congress has raised the budget for Pork by 28% since the Dems took over (don't have a comparative to when the Reps were in charge of all three branches) + the stim package cost (and they still are talking of doing another).
Sen Tom Coburn wants to cut 5% out of EVERY dept of government incl. the Pentagon -- YIKES, I think that's a knee jerk reaction -- btw, he is a Republican from OK.
His idea is that there is too much redundency of programs (he spoke of 105 programs that encourage people in Math & Science, he feels there should be only one ... but he didn't get into how each program differs from each other).
On the bright side --
Unlike London, we are not opening a theme park based on the music of ABBA ... no 25-room ABBAWorld here! You know - if people have all that money to give .... I propose a 9rm, three bath amusement park dedicated to the life of ME - the greatest blogger in my area (that being within 25 ft of my present location) .... wonder how much stim money I could get to make that??? hmmm

Made in the USA ... ?
Okay a few things ..." Gov. David Paterson said New York state is providing a $6.76 million package of grants and tax incentives to Bannon, and U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer said he is trying to help Bannon [the car company from India] obtain $52 million in federal loans and loan guarantees.
Bannon will invest $26.5 million into the plant. "
1) India can't get their railroad system in order ... why would we expect any sort of decent car from them?
2) Why is Federal Funds being used to build up a foreign car company when they just forced the closing of American car companies?
3) In the story it mentions that if the company fails ... the only funds which needs to be paid back is the money that New York put in ... the Federal Government (that's you & me) is screwed.
hmmm.....
I think something is rotten somewhere .... but it stinks so bad its hard to tell exactly where its coming from.

Price of Inflation
a Check written on July 19,1969 for $10.50 by Neil Armstrong (the first man on the moon on the day of the launch) which was never cashed was just auctioned off for $27,350 ...
but there's a better example:
a man goes into a convienience store to buy a pack of cigarettes and was charged $2 -- until his bank statement came. He used his check card (like they incourage us to do) and -BOOM- it inflated just a little bit -- to $23 Trillion ... yep he was charged : $23,148,855,308,184,500.00
He of course also got charged for having overdrawn and having a negative credit, and lord knows how many checks he wrote are now going to bounce -- because the bank and Visa are blaming each other ... mean while he's sitting there waiting.
My question is = what is it going to do to his credit score! This might be funny now, but it won't be next time he goes for a loan and it comes up that he bounced all those checks.
And as long as we are talking banks ... there's a few banks in GA looking for a local big-wig restraunt owner ... see he owes them a bit of money ... $41MILLION ... he has skipped town, and the cops think he took the lamb all the way to the country of Jordan.
Too bad they didn't give those loans to Harley-Davidson ... the makers of the famous Hogs is laying off 1,000 workers. Amazing when you learn that there is actually a waiting list to get their bikes -- you would think they would be sitting pretty, wouldn't you?
Yep ... inflationary times.

You MUST respec the office ....
But how can I when he is doing something that is so blatantly against the Constitution????
By FORCING the GM CEO to "retire" he is interfereing in the narmal operations of private industry ... he is doing the exact same thing that England did over 200 yrs ago that caused our Forefather's to say "NO".
By FORCING Crystler to sell to Fiat, he is interfereing in the daily operations of a private business ... and then to force them to sell not to another American company but to a FOREIGN nation ---- that is OVER STEPPING his authority!!!
I don't know what to think any more ....
I mean, there are some things that I think he could do and they would be good for the nation (as long as people have the choice to take-it-or-leave-it with out penalties)...
But instead I heard a quote from his speech today (before the stocks took a 300pt PLUNGE) where he said that the US will lead the nation in Green Cars .... well the only way that can happen is if they MAKE you buy them ...
In order to do this two things must happen
1. gas engines will be outlawed
2. current combustion engine owners will be fined to poverty
Either way ... sounds to me like we are losing our personal freedoms ... a little at a time ... and people are just falling into step without saying boo.
More later.

Balancing the Nation's Check Book
We learn today that we are even worse off than we originally thought. By ONE TRILLION more.
Well, part of it is because the Obama people predicted that by 2010 the economy will have jumped up by 3%, where what they call Blue Chip forcasters are predicting only a 2% jump -- due mostly to the fact that, hey, there isn't much confidence in Obama's plans
(oh who are we kidding ... they are Pelosi's plans - she's got her hand up his butt and is working the head)
but if the Blue Chippers are correct the small difference over time will widen (like a wedge of pizza) such that by 2012 the projected deficit by Obama will be off by $2.2 TRILLION!!!
Then to make it all worse -- taxable incomes dropped in Feb&Mar ... that means that they are not getting the income they need to pay down the deficit (hey didn't I warn about this?) ... so they are considering lowering the tax levels.
Guard your pockets!!

The Obama Factor
Oh look the Dow is sliding down.
but you know .... Bush is still to blame for all the problems with the stock market I guess.
++++++++++++++++++
On the plus side, this has got to be one of the shortest speeches he's ever made - AND - he didn't stick around afterwards to take questions.
Why?
The speech was completely about the earmarks that he is signing into effect when he signs this bill.
++++++++++++++++++++++
Oh yeah -- the Dow is going back up ... it even hit double digits.
And I will give props that it did a great bit of business yesterday ... but it was based more on a lax'ing of acct'ing legislation on banks than it is on any $$ that the market got from the gov.
++++++++++++++++++++++
The one thing I heard in the speech was him trying to shift criticism of the earmarks from himself to Bush -- well he didn't come right out and say it ... it was more 'the middle of this decade' ... well that's a pretty thin veil considering that there have only been two prez's in this decade and he's one...
There wasn't any mention that it was also when the power in the senate/house was shifting back to the Dems. ((don't quote me on that though ... but I thought for sure that was in 2004-2006 when it all started turning).

The Hidden Costs
How it will effect Utility Prices
Now didn't I just
Here's the info they shared:
The President's plan to fine traditional utility companies for carbon emissions will drive up prices not just on utility bills ... but also on food & goods as businesses will have to pay more as well - essentially being charge twice for carbon emissions (once on their bill, then again for their plant usage).
Basically it will charge the industry (utility industry) $65BILLION/yr for current activity -- yes that means that he will be imposing a NEW tax on OLD usage.
The President himself admitted that under his plan that utility costs would 'necessarily skyrocket' (his words) ... and there is even a bigger cost initially not just because of the taxing of the utilities but the cost of retrofitting their plants would be passed on as well -- and no, that will be far from cheap.
So for people who have already seen their utility bills go up 150% over the last few years they can expect it to go up at least another 200% over the next 2 yrs. (well the first 2 yrs of the passing of the program)
the conservative estimate was $700-1400/family/year!!! That will be between $50 - 100/mo! I don't know about you, but that adds up quickly. And I don't know how things work in your state, but in ours they can tack on 'anticipated' charges until the legislature gets around to slapping their wrist and saying 'no' ... meanwhile they have used the money interest free, have charged taxes on it, and don't need to give it all back at once - they get to trickle it back to you.
The President figures he can use some of the new taxes from the utility companies to help those of 'modest income' to pay for their higher bills (its just too bad that most middle class families won't qualify for it any more than they do for the child-care credit or the medical-costs tax deduction) ... safe thing to say.
BUT there's a catch .... the tax break that this group in enjoys now? It will be gone - used to off set the cost of the new tax cut. (oh look -- robbing Peter to pay Paul .... seems to be the main mantra of the Obama policies)
And don't even think about it if you earn $75,000 or more ... remember upper income isn't supposed to start until $250,000 .... basically those who are professionals get screwed over completely. The administrations theory? Just change your energy usage.
YEAH -- easy for them to say when people really don't have a choice. You can't have a wood burning stove in most homes (oops that's a carbon maker isn't it) ... many apartments/houses don't have a wood burning fireplace for heat (oops there's those emissions again) ... I know - televisions ... oh wait ... the new HD tvs suck juice even when they are turned off - that won't work ... hmmm. Turn your thermostat down to 55F in the winter (never mind the pnuemonia, Universal Health care will pay for the dr, remember?) and 90F in the summer (heat stroke? its all in your head).
I've got a quote for you all ....
"Here we are wasting away in Obama-Ville. Hunting for our lost shaker of rebates ...."
EVERYONE BEND OVER!!!
+++++++++
Loved the quote by the White House Budget Director (Peter Orszag) on the objections to the $634 billion downpayment for Universal Health Care .... I think he should have thought about it a little more and found something more appropriate:
" ... None of this is going to be easy, but as the country music singer Toby Keith once put it ....' There ain't no right way to do the Wrong thing ' ...."
Yeah you read that correctly -- he basically admitted that the way they are doing it is WRONG and it could even be read as he is saying that Universal Health Care is WRONG!!!!
Betcha none of the comedians will jump on this one the way they would have if it were a republican that said it about a Bush plan.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Then there's the 'special funding' in the Stimulus bill.
More things we didn't know ....
During the campaign Obama promised that he would allow 5 days of public access to bills before the were voted on so that people had time to get a hold of their appropriate representative to express their opinions and to allow the reps to actually have time to read it ....
yeah right -- he shoved this down our throats before we even got our mouth open.
The democrats feel that letting the people read the bill for 5 days would be 'irresponsible' (Barbara Boxer, CA) .... that people might actually say 'no' to their plans - gee, I thought that was the purpose of a democracy, to give the people a say?
The Presidents position? Pass something by Friday (so government agencies can stay open --- lets have them shut down for a while and see how much we save!)
The Democrats killed a bill that would have FROZEN SPENDING at last years levels (you know when the Dems said Bush was spending too much?) ... the author? McCain - you don't think politics had anything to do with it do you? Never let it be said that the Dems never let politics stand in the way of good legislation.
Some of the stuff he wanted to curb?
$1.7 million for studying Pig Order in Iowa
$2 million to promote Astronomy in Hawaii
$?? termite research (yep, they eat wood)
$1.9 million for a water taxi service in Conneticut ... Conneticut? my brother lived there, why do they need a water taxi service? sneeze and your thru the state.
in the stimulus bill there are 7,991 earmarks = $5.5BILLION plus $6.2BILLION for 'pet projects' that were attached to Homeland Security/Defense/VA bills last year
Some of these project doubles up the money that they got in the last spending bill.
It raises the spending budget by 8%, or twice the rate of inflation.
What else is there?
$200,000 for tattoo removal in CA
$238,000 for the Polynesian Voyaging Society (Hawiian yacht club)
$1.7 million for honey bee research (okay this one is kind of important ... we need bees for ag to grow)
Next year the Dems vow to keep the pet projects to <1% of the total budget ... sounds good, until we see what the budget is going to be ... that is actually a scary thought when looked at that way!!
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Obama will take away a Doctor's choice not to perform a procedure they have a moral objection too.
That means if you are a Catholic doctor, you have no choice you will have to perform abortions ... or give birth control ... infact you will be regulated to tell young kids about birth control well before they even get to the age of where they might possibly need the information.
It means that people's TAX MONEY will be going to fund medical practices that they have a moral objection to ... if you are Muslim, yes you will pay for your daughters to be taught to use birth control -- they will be taught about alternative forms of 'sex'.
It means, parents will no longer have a say in what is being taught to their children ...
ummm.
I refuse to learn to goose-step or pray to my national leader.
(((0))))((((0))))((((0))))((((0))))((((0))))
Okay so yet another nominee is being investigated for tax fraud -- imagine that -- he makes #4 -- the Nominee for US Trade!!
I actually heard about this a couple days back but decided to let it slide until I got a few more details ...
He is a former mayor of Dallas, TX
He is being allowed to file 'ammended' tax returns (2005, 2006, and 2007) to cover his ass
He owes nearly $10,000 in back taxes (no mention of penalties)
why? he handled speaking fees which he says he donates to a scholorship fund at his former college
and the FULL COST of season tickets to the Mavericks basketball team
Plus he donated a television but claimed full price on the deduction even though it was used
Don't worry -- where we would do jail time, or at least get fined .... he gets to become a member of the government.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
But what's more dangerous is the cabinet members making policy for the President ... before talking to him about any of it to find out where he really stands.
Like Holder who said the President would be seeking a ban on all assault weapons -- but the White House was unprepared to deal with the announcement ... who passed the buck to the Justice Dept. ... it also sounds like Pelosi is against it saying there are laws on the books which can deal with it right now.
or LaHood saying that there would be a tax based on mileage driven ... press sec. Gibbs shot that down as fast as he could. To which Oberstar (yeah he's a dem from MN, sorry) said that White House Policy isn't going to be written in the press room .... in otherwords, get ready to have your odometer checked every year and a tax put on it!
How Bad Do You Have To Be
Remember that NBC leans more to the left than CNN these days --- and they are turning against Obama and his economic agenda ....
Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy
So what are they worrying about??? After all .... this is the guy they said needed to run the country to keep it from going in the tank.
Its got to be because now his policies are going to effect their own income & IRAs -- when it was mine or yours, they could have cared less .... now that its theirs --- suddenly something needs to be done.
Why don't people listen to me??

Have they been reading my blog???
Our Troubled Economy Is a Response to Barack Obama's Policies - WSJ.com:
Duh -- people will like to say this is still fall out from the Bush administration, but in reality that is only a small fraction of the problems."As 2009 opened, three weeks before Barack Obama took office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9034 on January 2, its highest level since the autumn panic.
Yesterday the Dow fell another 4.24% to 6763, for an overall decline of 25% in two months and to its lowest level since 1997. The dismaying message here is that President Obama's policies have become part of the economy's problem."

If it weren't then why is it that drops in the market can be linked directly to speeches/remarks/policy releases of the President??
Look -- Obama has done more to damage the economics of this country than Bush did .... honesty.
Yes AIG did just released a report that said they had a huge loss in the final quarter of 2008 ... but still that did not effect the market as much as the government getting a share of the Citigroups.
I think the Bush effect on Wall Street ended about 3 weeks ago ... about a month after he left office. You can not continue to blame him for the mess that we are in -- if that were the case we could still be blaming Carter .... or Clinton (although he did make a standing splotch on the Office of President the way Nixon did).
No == Time to stop blaming Bush and realize that its the Obama administration's busride now ...
and the fare is going up, but the bus is breaking down.

Just Listen To Me To Begin With ...
Very interesting chart I found on their website though - had to share it.
Very clever of them to try to hide the fact though that the numbers for Hoover happened in a single year, while Obama's plan is to be implimented over 10 yrs. But then .... Hoover's $'s are in the Millions , while Obama's $'s are in the BILLIONS. This makes the chart a tad hard to read (which is why they have the % of total & GDP in there) basically you would have to move the decimal point three places to the right on the Obama chart under the $ column.
But still, the majority of the changes Obama wants to make will be within the first year thanks to the Democratic congress seemingly backing him all the way.
Things to take a good look at:
Obama: Corporate Energy tax (Hoover didn't have one, but look at how much it is going to cost to run a company next year). Rich Tax = Obama nearly doubles the rate of Hoover.
All in all, Obama is coming up with $1.6 TRILLION in TAXES ... now if there suddenly aren't any corporations left to tax because he broke their backs? if the rich take the huge hit and no longer qualify as 'rich'? Where will he get the taxes from???I think Biden gave us a clue on the campaign trail .....
Obama described 'upper class' as $250,000 .... Biden came out the next day and said it was $150,000 .... and there was at least one clip on You Tube where he said $100,000 (but there's enough vaugity to the peice that makes we wonder if it wasn't from when he was running for President himself).
Either way --- if the income you aimed at doesn't quite make the money you want ....
JUST LOWER THE BAR
Yes soon we too will be at the 60% tax level that Sweden has. Oh it used to be 90% in the 1970s!!!

The President is planning a $ 3.5TRILLION budget and now he is setting up an "Us vs. Them" stradegy to things .... OMGs!
He is doing EXACTLY what he preached against when he ran for office -- and the Dems are following without stopping to realize it.
Maybe they are too close to the game ... or maybe its what they wanted all along and now its showing ....
this is getting scary ....
its like germany 1937, I swear.
Where the money goes ....
MSNBC had the following:
AIG
$150BILLION Federal Money recieved
$ 30BILLION Additional Federal Loans wanted
80% Gov. Stake in AIG
Okay now look at your 401K statement -- my guess is that you have a stake in AIG ... well you can kiss that share of your retirement gone. Once the government goes in, the investors (which you are) lose their shares - they get NOTHING.
BUT the one thing this does show is that -- we would have been okay if the other nations hadn't tumbled as well. AND THAT has been the truth of every economic slump in history.
Finally the Liberals are seeing the Light
HELLO!!! Now isn't that what I've been saying???" ... We are totally unprepared for this new phenomenon. We have safety
nets for the chronically unemployed, for the fast-food workers let go, and for
the manufacturing plants that have been shuttered. The stimuus will create
construction jobs galore. But we have nothing for the tens of thousands of
displaced advertising creatives and newpaper writers and editors that are among
the newly unemployed. They can't build roads -- all they learned how to do
was to write ads and draft editorials. Mark Penn, WSJ
article"
Isn't that what we've been hearing from conservatives?
Not only are most of the jobs 'created' by the Spendulus Bill not going to exist for at least a year ...
Not only will they only be temporary ....
Not only will the majority of them required UNION membership ....
BUT only a few people in the nation will actually qualify for them on a skill level.
The rich are getting some help (at least for now, the ax is falling for them here soon)
The working poor are getting help (and I'm not saying they shouldn't)
But the Middle Class - the ones who Obama was supposably doing all this for - is getting the shaft.
Although I have to say -- I think if they hang on they will find by June 2009 that people will be getting back to the paper for their news ... not so much because they will get a better product, after all let's not kid ourselves here - news in the paper is already 24 hrs old - but because people aren't going to be able to pay for the electricity to run those new digitally capable televisions. (different subject ... must stay on point .... must stay ... on....point)
It is not just newspaper editors who are being left out in the rain though .... its the computer engineer ... the licensed day care teacher ... the small business man ... the statistician ... the farmer who can't sell his crop .... these are the people who are in trouble too.
How can the average American try to inspire their child to strive to go to college -- remember Obama said that jobs needing a college degree is where the future lays -- when the average famiy will never qualify for any of the programs to send their kids.
Obama is killing the Professional middle class with these moves --- he is making a nation of haves & have-nots --- he is creating the very thing he claims he doesn't want.
Lets get this clear ---
the Stimulus Bill is NOTHING MORE than "Re-Distribution of Wealth" wrapped with a bright shiny ribbon.
