Alright - weighing in - Press Sec. Gibbs poked fun at Sarah Palin ....
Set Up:
At the Tea Party Convention (that's a joke in itself) Palin poked fun at Obama's use of teleprompters ... cameras caught a shot - at least I've only seen one - of writing on Mrs. Palin's hand ... I don't know if she ever referred to the note during her speech, I don't think it matters.
Joke:
During the press conference Gibbs read from his palm what the list was .... Milk, Eggs, Bread ... the press had a few laughs and a few moans/groans at the bad joke.
Personally -- hey it was a fun dig ... he was having fun. I don't think it was meant to be disrespectful or partisan. C'mon we all would poke fun at someone who got caught with writing on their hand, especially during a public event! I thought it was funny.

Jolly Joker
Okay this isn't really a joke - but its funny anyhow ...
Bill O'Reilly (that's not it, stop laughing) did a survey on his website and here's the results:
At This Point, Which Republican Could Beat Barack Obama?
Palin 30%
Huckabee 29%
Romney 25%
Gingrich 16%
(7500 participants, non-scientific poll)
Yeah - how interesting.
I'm thinking people chose her because it is just the more funny answer and not because they think she could really beat Obama ....

Normally this is a quote (and it is early too) but I thought this cartoon would be better ... you may have to zoom in to see it ... but it is so reminacent of what is happening now that I just had to share.

I've been trying to find out more about those depicted in the cartoon - such as their political stance, parties, and even just the era itself ... I do know that 'college boys' were not seen by the majority of the nation favorably because everytime they came up with an idea to 'help' the country, it seemed like the everyday folk got hurt. But I haven't been able to find a lot of info because only last names are given ...
if anyone has some insight, please leave a comment -- I would love to learn more about these people & why they were put into this cartoon

Jolly Joker
not a joke, but another great exchange between Judy Judy & a defendant on her show.
Open Note to Defendant: If 2 cups of liquor didn't make you ill, or to a state where you knew you shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car ... seek professional help immediately ... and then see someone about your drinking problems too.
Judge Judy: How much had you been driking that night?
defendant: about 2 cups
Judge Judy: Two cups of what?
defendant: liquor

Heathcliff said "Did you hear what happened to ol' Charlie the goose?"
she said "no, what happened?"
"the Wild Goose came along and stole his wife," he said.
"nooo."
He said, "now everytime that honking get flying over, ol' Charlie gets tense and hides"
"Really depressed, huh?" she asked
"No, he thinks He's bringing her back!"

Let me tell you about Spiro Agnew ...
He went golfing and hit a man with a golf ball ...
He played tennis and hit Dinah Shore right in the mouth ...
I'm telling you ... I'm cancelling my hunting trip with him!!

Okay a new weekly feature for the weekends where I will share some of the oldest, and what I think are funny routines/jokes I've heard.
((-))-((-))-((-))-((-))-((-))
Heathcliff & Gertrude the Seagulls are flying over the ocean when Heathcliff says:
"Hey look The Ship of Fools!"
"How do you know that's The Ship of Fools?" asks Gertrude
"Well their all looking up!" he said.
