Hello??? News followup 1

Okay I just posted this when I decided to do a bit of research {trying to get that proper quote} and I came across this story:
Officials Scramble To Provide Services To Jena Protestors
So this little town of 3,500 is suddenly being besieged by 1000s of people {my guess is several 100 won't even be from the general area} so now they feel the need to pull in the stuff needed for them...okay portapotties I can see {who wants that mess?}, Medical services I can see {you never know with heat exhaustion, it is Lousiana}, and even water I can see {can't say for sure, but in my experience most small towns are serviced by individual well systems}; but FOOD??? Why should the public be forced to feed them? My guess is most of the town folk who can't get to their businesses...would wish they would just go away! SHELTER??? Let them bring their own tents and crap...I'm sure there is proper camping facilities nearby--I hope the cops down there really stick to the laws and start ticketing people for vigrancy!

So who is paying for this? The city tax payers...they are hoping for state aid.

You realize of course that if these people put as much effort into cleaning after Katrina then New Orleans would be nearly cleaned up by now.

Not only are the taxpayers paying for all this....to add insult to injury they are also supplying the transportation to get the protestors to the starting point! All protestors meet at 5am {I didn't think anyone in the south got up that early, but hey who knows}at the Colesium/stadium of a different county (that's how small this county is) where they will be bused by private buses {sounds like they don't even have public transport in this town} to the counties rec center which is located outside of town. So exactly how small is this town? They have an "old" Walmart....not "old" as in one of the first made, "old" as in even a Walmart failed in the area!!!

The protestors from this rec center will have to march a whole whopping 2 miles!!! Oh big effort. If you are wondering how far two miles translates to....walk the length of 3 city blocks--yup that's about it. It is walking to the end of my block and back twice, well that is actually longer than that but close.

To top this all off...and I can't believe it, how cliche....there will be a rap concert given. Hello--is there anything more gang related than rap???

You can try all you want to say that Rap has about as much to do with gangs as Acid Rock has to do with drug use....oh wait, it does. I know, it has as much to do as people who like country music watch NASCAR...oh wait, that's true too {at least statistically}; hmmm....sorry can't say I can really seperate them. Do I listen to rap? Some of it, but mostly not....what I listen to comes on those "Now" albums and has been sanitized to the best of their ability {one of these days I expect to find a rap song on there that is only 3 seconds long}.

So this is supposed to be a Benefit concert--for who's benefit? To pay for council for these 6 thugs? Sorry I don't see how they deserve a benefit-concert any more than a member of any street gang.

Well it will be interesting to see how this turns out...I just hope there won't be any violence--but I'm not counting on that. You can count on some violence...some theft...some vandalism...some arrests and protests against them...and a few car fires!
