I have little sympathy for these people. HOWEVER....

If their offenses are small/minor enough to allow them back into general population even if monitored....then the chips would have to be removable after their sentence is over.

This is easily accomplished with the ankle monitors....not so hard with the chips (if its the same ones as dogs, its about the size of a grain of rice).

Now...by that same token....they have had several criminals slip off the anklets and do bad things, or not be where they needed to be during the check. The chip would make it harder for them to decieve the system.

I don't know...on one hand I agree and on the other I can see problems.
