So why is PetSmart being held responsible???

Corpus Christi, TX KRISTV.COM PETA Video Shows Abuse of PetSmart Animals

First the title of this story is very misleading---it was NOT PetSmart in the video, but one of the vendors who supplies rodents for the petstore.
Second, it DOES show some very bad things...things that if PetSmart knew about would make the company lose its contract
Thirdly, there is also a statement which said that the person performing the nuetering of the rabbit was NOT a vet...that's a criminal offense--its practicing med w/o a liscense, even if it is on a rabbit.
Lastly...this brings up an issue that is also linked to illegal immigrants...how?

PETA wants to hold PetSmart responsible for the mistreatment of these animals although there doesn't seem to be any fore-knowledge on PetSmart's part....the government wants to make companies responsible for hiring illegals even if there is no proof that they knew the people were illegal.
So Huckabee had said in one of the debates that he couldn't see why if he hired a person and followed the law and the employee background check didn't raise alarms-why he would be held responsible, later, if it turned out that the person was really illegal.

So why would PETA expect PetSmart to be held responsible? If it turned out that PetSmart knew about it and had done nothing about it--warn the supplier, fine them, something---then yes, I can see there being an issue.

However in this case it sounds like they did not know---but now they do....now is when they stand the test.
