Okay click on the link above and see a map of the asteroids path---yes the image does show that it will fly scary close to Earth's orbit....scary close.
It will not matter that we aren't there---just the fact that it is flying thru it should be a concern.
It means that something isn't working like it should and is allowing possible "planet killers" thru the screens.
So what has changed in space that would be preventing the 'shepard' system of our solar system from working.
is it the recent landings on the asteroid belt between Earth & Mars? Is it the recent mission that smashed a probe into a comet? Is it all the extra junk we have floating around the Earth changing its magnetic field? Is it just natural weakening/collapsing/expansion of orbital objects?
Who knows--it all adds up to---
