A well kept secret is how to save 50% on craft kits from Plaid & Bucilla! It's Plaid Craft Express from Herrschner's

While its a part of the Herrschner's family, you will not get these prices in the Herrschner's main site, nor will the items you put in the cart here show up in the main Herrschner's cart.

They are two seperate stores.

For instance .... I am looking at a small cross stitch project called "Tea & Thee":
Herrschner's = $5.99
Craft Express= $3.97

That's quite the savings, especially in these high gas priced times. And the Craft Express site had it on clearence .... other products I've looked up are of equal value.

But the point is that the sale prices are better. Now I don't know if this is one of those things where if it doesn't sell out in Craft Express it will then slide into the regular Herrschner's site and go into their weekly "Needlecraft Sale" or not.

It will be an interesting thing to keep an eye on.

Right now I'm keeping an eye on the enamel paints .... I ordered Donna Dewberry's One Stroke Painting kit a long time ago with the thought of giving away hand decorated glasses & cookie jars at holidays/birthdays .... hand painted mirrors for house warming gifts ... etc.

But when the kit came ... as much as I might like acrylic paints for wall art ... it wasn't what I was expecting - you can't use acrylic to decorate glass or ceramic and expect it to be dishwasher/water safe. So my kit has been sitting waiting for me to get inspired again.

And now I have! If I can learn to do it with acrylic then it should be easy to do with enamel -- only on plates I will have to work it in the OPPOSITE order of layers.
