Election 2008

Iowa Independent » Sebelius: Obama’s race ‘may be a factor’:
"One questioner argued that Obama was under-performing in polls because young voters with cell phones were under-reported, and Sebelius agreed. “I have a 24 year old and a 27 year old and they’ve never had a land-line since they went to college,” she said. “So they don’t show up in polls. But they need to show up at the polls.”"
I have had a landland since I was a kid and I have NEVER been part of one of these polls either, so I guess that means that landliners are under reported too.

Why can't people understand that it could just be that people are beginning to really listen to what the candidates are saying now and are realizing that while Obama has good ideas, he has no way of funding them without raising taxes on the majority of Americans, rich or middle class.

Or maybe its because Obama loves to flaunt his rich friends ... you know the ones who throw $25,000 plate dinners? You know the ones who squawk about the enviroment the same time they are jumping on those private planes & riding in their SUVs?

Maybe because they are realizing that he is full of empty promises? Big talk with no substance? That he will be easily put into so many people's pockets the same way he was when elected to the senate? (i have a previous post with a link to the story .... I will have to put a link back to it) ...

don't believe me .. here are words from the Kansas governors own mouth:
"“I can do a much better job as governor of Kansas, and Chet Culver can do a much better job in Iowa, if we have a partner in the White House instead of an adversary.”
so somehow having Obama in will make being Gov. easier ... how, unless he is expected to hand these states over anything they wish, when they wish it?
Other than signing bills for emergency funding ... there really isn't much a President can do to effect a state -- congress determines funding matters for everyday matters such as roads, healthcare, and the like ... they like to say its the President who has the power over such things but all he can do is veto their bills - but then none of the states in the bill get the money, so if a bill is effecting one state only then that would be an earmark which all the politicans love to say they are against - until it effects them.

Obama isn't doing better in polls, not because cell phone users are being under polled (there apparently wasn't an issue in the primaries, so why now?) ~nor~ is it about race (the only ones speaking of race are the democrats ~neither~ is it about 'enemies' in the White House .... it has to be something else.

something more basic. More than likely what happened was that during the primaries/caucuses people voted democrat who were really republican to get Obama in there ... and now that the real election race is on, they are going back to their republican ways and polling the truth.

Or maybe, just maybe, the two candidates really ARE polling that closely. But then I doubt that the Kansas Governor ever thought of that (nor the people on MSNBC or CNN)
