"Miss Ifill acknowledged Wednesday not telling the Commission on Presidential Debates, but dismissed the criticisms, saying she has 'a pretty long track record covering politics and news,' and is not worried by a day of blog chatter"Yes but she has never been able to keep her own leanings out of it -- and that is what the concerns are.
She has never been able to hide her support for the democrats or Obama in specific .... in fact she has been pretty passionate about it.
Had she been forthright about the upcoming book - I am sure that the Republicans would have objected to her ... not because she is a woman, not because she is a minority, but because she was putting out a book that supports one particular candidate....
Its the same reason you would never see Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, or Neil Cavuto as moderators ... they lean to the right - and the democrats would have a hard time with it (besides, Rush would try to pick a fight) ....
seems to me it would only be fare to have a debate with O'Reilly as moderator .... or Elisabeth Hasslebeck! Why didn't they ask Barbara Walters to do it? She seems to lean right to me, but she also appears to hide it well.
