The average American is drowning in energy bills??
In today's society you can NOT get along, unless you are Amish, without heat & electric ... but these companies are allowed to charge pretty much whatever they want -- oh yeah they get 'regulated' and seem to need to have every increase 'looked at' by government but really they pretty much have a free hand.
We are lucky right now, we can pay the bill without an issue ... but I remember when it was a tough do .... I know people who are having a really tough time making the payments this year ... I also know people who play the 'entitlement' game to get the bills either deferred or paid for by the government (this burns my ass).
For people who live in FL or CA this might not mean much but if you live in either of the Dakotas, Montana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Maine, New Yark [sic], or any other the states that seem to get buried in the white stuff each year -- this year the bills are going to be nuts.
It will not be unusual to see a bill that reaches between $500-600/mo. and that's at 65*F! For the average MN home (based on stats) that is about 2 wks worth of income == could YOU imagine 1/2 a months pay going to anything other than your mortgage?
This is horrendous -- but you know, we have to have free Internet, can't live without that .... got to have health care for everyone, can't live without that (well, really think about it - it is a total 20Th cent. invention)....
so who is the brains behind this piece of shit legislation??
A republican.
Trust me, I'm rolling my eyes right now.
