"Good morning, Barack Obama Elementary School!' That is what children attending the former Ludlum Elementary in Hempstead, New York have been hearing ever since the local school district board voted unanimously to change the name to honor the United States' first black president. What if ... he's not that great of a President after all?
Barack Obama took office barely 10 days ago, but already schools and streets are being renamed. In the Hempstead case they didn't even wait until Inauguration Day, re-christening the school back in November -- the first in the nation to do so."
What if he turns out to be another Ford or Carter or Tyler?
What if he turns out to be power hungry like Nixon?
What if he turns out to be a scandal horder like Clinton and Kennedy?
What will they think then of all the streets & schools named for him?
What if it turns out that he really isn't qualified to be President? Remember he still has not produced the original birth certificate yet, and there is still his grandmother's statement saying she was at his birth in Kenya .... and then there's the 'evidence' that he gave up his American citizenship when he was about 8 on a visit to his father in Africa (though, this one I have more doubt about).
I'm not saying he's a bad man .... I'm not saying they shouldn't name schools & streets after him ... I'm just saying they should wait until after he is out of office -- heck this school didn't even wait until he was in office to change their name.
I hope they don't get let down.
