Here is the list of 'problems' they have found:
- $1Billion for U.S. Census Bureau
- $300 million for US Fish & Wildlife Service
- $20 million to remove Fish Passage Barriers [what is this? are they talking about the barriers that keep those flying carp from taking over areas? no we need those]
- $600 million for fuel efficient motor vehicles
- $70 million for NOAA supercomputing activities
- $500 million for NASA science missions [hey, hands off NASA!!]
- $34 million for Dept of Commerce modernization
- $25 million for fixing Off-Road Vehicle routes
- $11 Billion temporary tax deduction for car payments
- $2 Billion for a near zero emissions power plant
- $850 million for Amtrak??
- $650 million for Digital TV Transition coupons (what job does this create? does not belong in this bill, should be seperate)
- $87.5 million for a Coast Guard polar Icebreaker {didn't they say there isn't any polar ice cap to break anymore??? don't get me wrong, if they need it they should get it, just not part of this bill}
- $448 million for the Department of homland Security Headquarters
- $150 million for the Smithsonian Institute
So where is the housing issue? Where are the jobs? Why is it that 20% of this spending won't be for 2 yrs anyways?
The president is pushing this bill so hard -- he wants it TODAY ... no more questions ... just sign it, he says.
Sounds to me like a really good reason to drag this thing out a little while longer.
