First - Boy Scouts do NOT exclude atheists ... they do include God under several relifions ... they have never made religion an absolute necessity that I am aware of ...

Activist Groups Urge Obama to Reject Boy Scout Honor - First 100 Days of Presidency:

"Critics of the Scouts who are outraged that the group is allowed to exclude gays and atheists while receiving federal funding are urging Obama to reject the group's honorary presidency, a designation bestowed on every U.S. president since William Howard Taft in 1910.

'I'm hoping and praying he turns down the honorary presidency,' said Howard Menzer, president of Scouting for All, which advocates for inclusion of gays into the Boy Scouts."

I do not know what the questions are they ask leaders, or potential leaders ... but somehow I doubt one of them is "are you gay?" ... my guess is that it operates more under the guise of 'don't ask, don't tell' ...

Do I agree with the problems people have with gay leaders ... no of course not.

But I think most of the people who have a problem with Scouting, never were a scout or were one, but didn't enjoy it. So they have a beef with the program in general and are no striking back as adults.

Let it be people -- Obama could do more as "Honorary President" than he could from the outside looking in. The Boy Scouts are a 'private' organization ... the government has very little say in their operations = by SUPREME COURT ruling.

There are groups out there like the KKK preaching not only hate but action against gays & atheists and these people can only think to go after a group of BOYS?????
