Okay - so the MAC has decided to spend $2.2 MILLION, during a recession when the government is hurting for money, to change signs for the airport here.
They already have signs leading into the airport which list the airlines working out of each of the terminals.
Now they just went thru naming the two terminals different names not that long ago to cut down on confusion ... it was supposed to help people know which was which ... now they are complaining saying that they have "two names for one airport" ...
well no they don't, not really. They are two seperate buildings from my understanding .... I've never flown so I wouldn't know from first hand ... but my husband, who needs a GPS to get to the cabin he's been going to since he was 6 months old, can get there without getting lost so it can't be that confusing.
Anyways ... that aside ... the MAC is hopeing that this will keep a few thousand people from getting lost every year ... not that its going to stop it -- tickets are still going to list the terminals by name, while the new signs are going to ID them by numbers.
oh yeah, that's better.
That should cut down on the confusion.
But I have to ask -- is this really what they should be concentrating on right now? Granted that the money to pay for this is supposed to be coming from the food & services tax placed on all the items sold within the airport .... you know, that thing that makes a $1 bottle of water cost $4 behind the security gate? Now they will raise it up higher.
how about taking that money and figuring out a way of keeping my windows from rattling in the winter from all the airplanes that are flying over head? how about using it to pay the state back for the money you have sucked out of the economy so out taxes don't have to keep going up?
I think they could find a better way of doing things...without spending $2 million dollars.
