Mr. President -- take a cue from Bill Cosby ... notice how he weighs his words trying his best not to say anything that would be taken out of context, that won't offend anyone, and show support for both sides of the matter?
See, that is called -- CLASS.

Cambridge Cop, Disappointed in Obama's 'Stupidly' Comment, Refuses to Apologize - Political News - FOXNews.com:
"'I think it's fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry,' Obama said. 'Number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And number three -- what I think we know separate and apart from this incident -- is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that's just a fact.'"As the head of the Federal branch of Law Enforcement he should have known better.
He should have left it at "...he is a friend of mine." and then said that when the facts of the case come out, people will be able to form their opinions .... instead he did the ONE thing that lawyers (which he is supposed to be one) hate -- statements in the press by politicians, especially on matters that don't concern them!!
he's right, number 1 ANYONE would have been upset if they were caught by the cops breaking into their own home.
but let's remember a couple of things:
1. a neighbor called in a possible break-in (we don't know any more about it than that)
2. even if he had ID saying he lived there, the cop didn't know if this was a case of domestic abuse or not
3. yes he was an old man with a cane, but that is just another potential weapon in a police officers eyes
Had this been a domestic abuse case and the cop let him in and he killed his wife .... the cop would be grilled.
If he tried to varify by all means possible that this guy belonged there w/o incidents ... the cop gets grilled.
The professor though .... who gave the cop a bad time, and carrying on .... he is supposed to get a walk simply because of his race? I don't care if you are purple, green, yellow, blue, or polka-dotted == a cop tells you to do something - you better frickin' do it!
I am getting sick of people claiming the cops did something wrong when someone gets hurt or get arrested by the cops ... and it turns out that had the person simply followed directions it wouldn't have happened.
And to have the President of the United States put out a statement that it is basically okay to disobey what the cops ask you to do -- is so WRONG!
He was asked something point blank - true the reporter made a point of asking him about this subject - but he should have taken the HIGH ROAD and kept his personal opinion out of it ....
he needs to learn that as President .... you don't have a "personal opinion" on policy issues anymore
if you can't handle that -
maybe you should resign
(although I would hate that .... Biden as President is just too scary a thought)
