had to discuss this one, mostly because the person involved can't see what he did wrong.
In OR there is a transgender mayor ... he became a she before being elected, well half-she (apparently he still has his 'equipment' for now) - in fact they showed his campaign material where he is dressed like a female with his cleavage showing from the top of what I would call a camisole with a push up bra built in.
Well - he was supposed to speak to a group of children (ages 10-15yrs) about Leadership ... and he showed up in what we term 'whore heels', you know those super high heels, a mini-mini skirt, and another boob-popping halter top. NOT appropriate wear for talking to kids -- I don't care if its 90degrees out ... if teacher's can't wear it to school then the visiting speakers shouldn't be wearing it either.
So now he wants to SUE the group for discrimination ... even though they never told him to come as a man, in fact the concern was the particular outfit he chose to wear that day, his gender had nothing to do with it.
As it turns out there is a city dress code (I would assume inacted to discourage prostitution by the sounds of it) ... the code specifically says no mini-skirts, revealing tops. As mayor he should be supporting the law ... even if he didn't know about the law, he should have been apologetic and then used his position to change the law.
Isn't that what we try to teach kids? You need to follow the rules, and if you don't agree with a rule then you need to discuss it with whoever is in charge - but you can't ignore a rule.
So its like all those people who think that the law that makes growing/smoking marijuana is stupid ... does it then make it okay for them to ignore it? NO ... the law is the law ... if you don't like it, do something to change it -- but don't break the law just to prove your point.
again can I say .... Sarah Palin in that outfit? Totally skewered, I'd bet.
