Someone is Gonna Get It ....

Okay - so I was looking at the USGS monitor and noticed that there hasn't been a new earthquake in 24 hours ... now the one thing I know is that there should have been at least 1 quake in that time ... its just a given .... even if its small, there is a need to release tension in the Earth.

I did however notice yesterday that there were two moderate earthquakes ... on either side of Australia, of the same size and only a few minutes apart. Here's the map and info:

Now it could be just tension being released by the earlier 7.8 quake but I'm a tad concerned about the fact that there was one on either side of the continent and along the same fault line.

The quietness should worry some one somewhere though -- something is going to build ... I'm thinking a second large quake which will put South Island back to where it belongs since the first one moved it an almost an entire 12 inches -- that's incredible in geological terms and extremely unusual.
