What's that sucking sound???

Oh its the 'unbiased' news media ....

Ok, so on The View the other day, Joy Behar managed to somehow blame Cheney (i.e. Bush administration) for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

First -- WHAT??? How the heck do you get there? she mentioned 'deregulation' but she is forgetting that (a) it was passed when the Dems were in charge of Congress, and (b) the company running this is not American, its British. But more importantly -- its under Obama's watch!!!

Back when the Exxon Valdez ran aground in the 90's --- and everyone is comparing this thing to that disaster --- Pres. Bush 1 waited 14 days (2 weeks) before he took federal action and he was roasted on the news media.

on the radio this morning I heard that, it was either Donaldson or jennings (I always got them mixed up when I was growing up), said that Bush's efforts were 'too little too late' ... even though he had only been in office for 3 months. He was sworn-in in Jan 1989 ... and the spill took place on Mar 23 that same year.

Ok - so now Obama has been in office for 17 months, and it is over 30days ... where is the media outrage??

After all, during the time of Bush 1 they had never dealt with anything like this before - they hadn't really had a big spill. But surely during the Obama presidency there has been more than enough research and planning made to at least have an idea of what to do.

I still say the only thing that is keeping Obama in office is the fact that if he were impeached, Biden would be president.

oh btw -- what was Obama doing during these last 30 days .... um, golf ... dinners ... entertaining the Mexican president (the one who was rude enough to stand on the floor of our Senate and knock our country - and the damn fools clapped, well half of them clapped) ... my understanding is that much of what he was doing was not as 'important' as the crisis down there.

He seems to have a real pattern of doing this -- distancing himself from disasters or high stress situations until the big din of it has died down, or until he needs to pull attention away from something else .... he needs to bring this up now because of the scandal of offering a sweet deal job to a senator as 'payment' not to run for office, so the candidate that the WH wanted could get in there. Rumor has it that it was Sec. of the Navy ...SecNav, for you NCIS fans :-)

That is being dubbed as "Obama's Watergate" ... so yeah - now he's going to respond to the oil spill - he has to direct the spotlight somewhere else for a little bit ... while they try to talk him into changing his story.
