 Yes that's an old line from the Smothers Brothers -- but Biden wants to apply it to himself as well, but directing it to the media.

In particular, the fist bump he did with the Crown Saudi prince ... the one who they say killed that reporter guy ... the one who wrote bad stories about him.  I don't know who did it, but the stuff I've seen are pretty damning.

Anyhow -- the Washington Post put out a story that compared the fist bump to when Obama bowed to some prince (and I believe I slammed him for that too - American leaders should bow to NO ONE) ... to Nixon shaking hands with chairman Mao (I don't know how to spell the other part of his name ... sounds like Say Tongue) - even though that visit ACCOMPLISHED something for the country ... and when Truman shook hands with Stalin.

wait ... what???

There is a photo which shows Truman in the middle shaking hands with Churchill to his right, and Stalin to his left.  

BUT there's a bit of a difference here ...

Truman was VICE President at the time (photo taken Nov. 30, 1944) but he didn't become President until April 1945 after FDR's death.

ALSO - I'm not sure how much of the horrors going on in Russia were known at the time ... most of the historical stuff I've seen has dealt with WW2 but on the German/UK side of things, or the Japan/USA side of history  ... I've never really delved into the Russian side ... although I would imagine that they had to know that Russia was once an Axis power.

But ... Truman never really trusted Stalin either.

I have GOT to see that movie of when he found out about the Manhatten Project ... FDR kept him in the dark about EVERYTHING of any actual importance!!!

Maybe that's why WAPO and the President think its the same thing .... the White House is keeping him in the dark all the time too
