Seems like a far cry right?
Really, not so much
I just watched a press briefing from the PENTAGON which was so full of wind, I'd be surprised if it didn't change the jet stream/weather!
According to the Pentagon, balloon is definitely from China... It is maneuverable, meaning that China is controlling the balloon... It is flying at around 60,000 feet, which is twice the height of most commercial airlines... But well within military range... It started over Alaska, to which they have appeared to do nothing for, proceeded across Canada - which gave them a heads up and they still didn't do anything - and it appears to like to hover above military installations!
The Pentagon, and the the White House, have come to the conclusion that it's not a quote threat UN quote at this point in time... so they're going to let it proceed upon its way.
There are currently reports, again from Canada, that a second balloon has been spotted and is also headed toward the United states!
So while the military, and the White House, are sitting back sipping their cups of coffee and watching this thing float across the United states... I'm gonna bet that somebody down South is gonna break out their shotguns and start trying to shoot this thing out of the sky... It is not going to be within the range I'm fairly sure, but then that never stops anyone
and if you have ever seen the scenes in the movie quote Red Dawn UN quote from 1984 starring Patrick Swayze... You understand why people are a little nervous about balloons/ aircraft from other countries flying over the United states airspace... This of course includes Alaska and Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam, the Philippines and the Virgin Islands!
Dear president, we don't care who you're getting money from... we do care that you're allowing this to go on without doing anything to stop it! The best time to have gotten these was when it was over a military base, because the chances of it hitting any civilians was slim to none! exclamation
