SAY WHAT??

So I started watching GMA this morning (2023 May 22) , when the Story reporter commented that Biden sounded optimistic

they then showed a clip of the question to which he sounded 'optimistic" about

WH Line Reporter (unidentified by name or employer):  Mr. P resident, how was the phone call between you and House Speaker McCarthy? 

President Biden:  It went well.

That was it... that was all... that apparently is all it needs to sound optimistic in this day and age.

I would just like to point out that a well is deep, dark, dank... That does not sound optimistic to me... in fact it sounds like a giant "Nothing Burger" to me...aka,  UNRESPONSIVE! 

She then went on to say that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, she identified him by his full name, said that the Sunday phone call was productive... here's what he actually said

House Speaker McCarthy: I think we can solve some of these problems we're have, if he understands what we're looking at (clip, but no reason why they clipped it) but look, there'sas no agreement, we're still apart.

 The reporter then continue on to say that the Republicans were demanding deep spending cuts in order to raise the debt limit... However, on the Sunday morning talk shows the Republicans were coming out and saying that they simply wanted to return to the spending rates oh 2022... Which was the budget slash spending negotiation put forth by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which the president signed without much issue at all!

According to the reporter these are the sticking points:

House Speaker McCarthy wants to"GUT" feiden's agenda... by cutting spending

president Biden wants to increase taxes for the "wealthiest Americans and corporations" - I have added those quotation marks, because I'm from Minnesota and I've seen how this works!

In Minnesota we have a tax surplus of billions of dollars... We have pretty much Democrat ran offices across the board, I do not believe that the Republicans hold enough of a majority in anyone legislative area to be able to block anything.

We have not had a surplus of tax money... AKA they overtaxed us yet again... since Jesse Ventura was running for governor of the state - difference was that this time before the election, both parties announced there would be rebates coming for everyone in the state of Minnesota! Only difference would be the amount that you would receive based on your income... Republicans wanted to go by the amount of tax that you paid for the year on your income... the democrats wanted to give the biggest breaks to those who earn the least in the state, and screw the people who paid the most!

I didn't care... I was in the middle of the group... figured we were safe... boy was i wrong

the election happened, the Democrats ran across the board, they won the state senate... they won the state house... they won the governorship... the people bent over and got ready

they just passed the bill yesterday, and they have dramatically slash drastically dropped the cut off point in order to receive a refund... we no longer qualify... we are a single income family, who file as married, who make well less than$400,000... which was what they were saying during election time would be the cutoff point... But wait that's not all

Then they decided that the amount of money that you get back... Will not be passed on your text" schedule rate" or how much of your money they take for taxes... Instead they have this convoluted formula based on how low your income is, how many children you have, and in where you live...

Those who live in Hennepin County, the second richest county in the state, will receive more than those who live in wadena county, the second poorest county in the state, and the question is why... I personally think it's because Hennepin County went blue during the 2020 elections, while wadina county went red during the 2020 elections! But I could be biased ...  :.. The plain fact is most of the outlying areas of most states are leaning conservative instead of liberal

but when polls are taken, censuses are looked at, votes are counted dash it's the big cities that are looked at first... and taken as the quotation mark mass majority quotation mark of the country, when in reality they are not!

But - back to the national picture!

They reported that the president said he was willing to slash military budgets and " domestic spending", which would include Education, Housing, in Scientific Research... Which are all basic staples of the democratic agenda... so that would make no sense at all, unless they were going to turn around later on and say the republicans made us do it.

House Speaker McCarthy, it is reported, wants to get back the unclaimed C-19 fans that were sent out to cities / states / programs ... Enforcing work programs for some federal aid programs... And increasing military spending, but they are not specifying how he wants to increase it - whether that be for pay increases, weapon upgrades, training, ETC.

But when it comes right down to it... the real problem is trying to get Republicans and Democrats... Democrats and Republicans... Whichever way you want to say it/look at it to work together to get this done!
