FROM THE HORSES MOUTH I do not think they

 About the Senate Border Bill:

"These are not republican talking points - this is what we have been told by experts on the ground ... Border Patrol agents, officers, long time verterans of the agency" Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA), Speaker of the House

Shortly after this statement, the Border Patrol Union"edorsed" the bill by saying:
"while not perfect ... it is a step in the right direction," Brandon Judd, National Border Patrol Council

But not even the senate got full agreement on the bill .... most notably:

    ~Robert Menendez (D-NJ)
    ~Alex Padilla (D-CA)
    ~Bernie Sanders (I_VT)

And onky 2 republican Republicans publically support this bill:
`~Mitch McConnell (R_KY), Minority Leader
~James Lankford (R-OK), Lead Negotiator

Quite surprising -- they have not said if they are against it because its too tough or not tough enough.
But it is not surprising that so few Republicans are supporting  I'm acttually not sure what I can and cannot say about the two senators who support it ... I don' think they are speaking to the people in their districts.

I will say, for an "endorsement" (I'm the one who put the quotes around it), its fairly weak ... you ever stand in a line for a really long time, and then when you finally get to move forward a bit you're like "well its better han nothing" ... that's the way this "endorsement" comes across.
Something is better than nothing, but they have not said it has knocked it out of the park.

Also - the "..." which has been placed within the statement from the union - I'm wondering what was removed in order to get that "endorsement" ... I'm going to guess its some pretty unenthusiastic words ... generally, when I insert "..." its because there's been a fade in a news clip indicating editting of what was said, or it appears to me as if there has been some editting going on.

Rep. Johnson said they talked directly to those on the ground - that's like talking to those working on the assembly lines at an automaker _ and the workers, the Everyday Joe, say they feel this bill does not go far enough.

But this story was from yesterday's news report ... we will see what today's news says later on .

Sorry - I keep falling behind.
