 THE SUPREMES

Okay - here are some of the stuff concerning the Supreme Court hearing as well ... it was originally supposed to be 10 minutes per side, then they upped it to "up to" 90 minutes total ... final count?  Around 3 hours! I got to hear the last 1 1/2 hrs or so ... I missed a LOT.

Let's start at the very beginning, that's a very good place to sart.

The Constitution:
     14th Amendment, Section 3:
        "No person shall ... hold any office ... under the United States ... who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States ... to support to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in ensurrection ."

Justice Jackson:
        "The language here doesn't seem include president, why is that?  And so if there's an ambiguity, why would we construe it to -- as Justice Kavannaugh pointed out -- against democracy?"

Chief Justice Roberts:
        "A goodly number of states will say whoever the Democratic candidate is, you're off the ballot.  And others for the for the Republican candidate, you're off the ballot.  And it'll come down to just a handful of states that are gong to decide the presidential election.  That's a pretty daughnting consequence."

Justice Kagan:
        "This question of whether a former president is disqualified for insurrection to be president again is, you know, just say it, it sounds awfully national to me."
