THE FIRST THING YOU SHULD KNOW ...

Okay - I'm still watching At Issue (KSTP-ABC) from last week ... towards the end of the show they speak to experts on politics - always wo of them - and usually from both sides of an issue.

This week they brought on a newbie ... Jason Issacson - they said he represented his district as both state legislatures ... so I'm not sure how to address him, but he has retired now, since he last served as Senator in the MN State Senate, I will be calling him Sen. Issacson.

And if it weren't for the fact that he was on At Issue, I would have questioned his credientials .... why?

Because when prompted by the host, Tom Hauser, to tell eople where he was from ... instead of saying "District 42" and then listing the cities wihin the district, he simply said
    "Shoreview, Moundsview, places like hat"

Whait - what???  Who gets a job as both a Representater AND a senator and doesn't seem to know what District they represent??  I know MN recently went through re-destricting, but still .... I'm prety sure the rest of the Senators can tell you off the bat which districtt they represent.

But maybe he was just nervous - after all, this was his first time on the show.

Then he went on to speak about statements Sen. Dean Phillips made about President Joe Biden ...

Sen. Dean Phillips, like a lot of people, doesn't believe that the President can beat President Trump this time - citing his low poll numbers ... he says President Biden is too old, but basically an all around nice guy.

Sen. Issacson, came across as thinking that Sen. Dean Phillips was attacking President Biden ... that Sen. Phillips was being wishy-washy since he said Joe Biden was both a nice guy but too old to run.

He seemed to take great offense to Sen. Phillips statements, even though they are fairly benign ... but he did finally simply dismiss Sen, Phillips out of hand towards the end.  

I'm going to guess that he's a Nancy Pelosi type of DFLer ... Thou Shall Not Speak Ill of Fellow Democrats.  

Hopefully he will get better, less "touchy" about other politicians words, and just kick back and relax.  

And, Senator Issacson .... DISTRICT 42 ... theanswer is District 42
