 It's tme to watch the Vatican .... endlessly .... for as long as it takes!

So far, there has only been ONE vote taken .... then the ballots burned ....

So - no new Pope yet .... which is really good, actually ....

They - we assume - do not have "nominees"  .... and after this round, as long as everyfone didn't vote for themselves, they've narrowed down the search a bit ....

Intesresting things I've lerned this round:

For the first few days, here is only 1 voteB taken per day .... just to narrow things down, get to know each other, make some "deals" for yourself .... 

Then they will begin to take anywhere between 2-4 votes a day, until a Pope is found ....

For some reason - you have r 80 years old in order to be allowed to vote .... so those who have a birthday next week, should be very glad as such - this will be their last time voting ....

There are188 cardinals voting this round .... and of these 103 were appointed BY FRANCIS .... interesting ..

So of the 89 votes needed to be elected, Francis appointed ALL OF THEM????

What the heck????

Talk about choosing your successor - this is almost like back when being Pope was an INHERITED titale .... did you know, there was a time when the Pope had CHILDREN????  on my goodness!!

Glad we don' have that going on - it was pretty horrid back then ....

BUT back to these times ....

So 89 people have to vote for he same person - why "person"? Because he new pope does NOT have to be a member of the clergy AT ALL!!!

Yup .... you just have to be tw0 things ...
1)a confirmed Catholic .... 
2)born male ....

Yeah - there's no women's lib here .... when I was a kid, and I'm serious, I used to have this dream in he back of my mind, that someday I would be Pope ....

well - that only lasted until I found out about that little clause .... oh well.

But what does this mean???

It means, if they wanted to ..... they could go to the corner parish and pick someone - any guy - and elevate him to be Pope ....

Ewwww .... but .... yeah.

He could be a drunk .... he could be a criminal (of any sort) .... or he could be the sweetest guy in the world ....

Don't matter - he could be the next Pope ....

WHY did they do this?? why would they leave it open like this?

Because .... they believe that some day Christ will return and He will want his place back ....

But, being Christ, he likely won't have much of an education .... or he might even be very educated, but not in Service to the Church ....

This opens the possiblities of why could happen .... but likely won't happen during the Conclave ...

And .... no .... this will not be like CONCLAVE, the movie, there will be NO Trans people becoming Pope .... that won't be allowed
