Car Stuck On Bridge
Okay I grew up and went to high school and college in this area...and I've got to tell you unless they have made a bridge that my father hasn't told me about (he still lives right there) then someone got their streets way wrong!
Washington Ave is way too far from Franklin at any point along its existance to be able to connect with a bridge.
They must have either (a)pick the two major arteries closest to the insedent or (b)someone looked at the map wrong. Franklin ave curves around when it gets to the star at the bottom of Franklin hill in the neighborhood of Prospect Park....Washington starts midway down University avenue at the very edges of the University of MN and proceeds across the river to downtown never once getting more than 6 city blocks from each other.
I guess I was wrong....there really is a pedestrian bridge that runs along the east side of the Mississippi from Franklin to Washington Aves. WHy? What good is it? How many trees did they have to cut up for this one and how much tax payer money was used for it???
Dang, MPLS can find more ways to waste our money than any city in the state!
