Yes the majority of MN is scandinavian...so yes most of our foreign tourists are relatives from the old country...and yes there are still families who speak their native languages even after generations being here in America....yet the Norwegian government feels the need to leave us!
WHY??
Perhaps it is because people have troubles finding the consulate? Perhaps they could reach out to the local schools and set up some sort of "heritage" week like the African American & Hispanics in the area have done?
I think this is something that the Sons of Norway need to jump onto! Actually all the Scandinavian groups should jump on it!
Oh and I'm not Scandinavian--I'm Polish....but I think it is really sad that we should loose such an important link to so many peoples past.
It is only from knowing where we have been, that we will be able to find where we are going!
