FOXNews.com - President Bush to Push for Tax Rebates, Breaks for Businesses to Keep Economy Growing
Whoo-hoo! I can get behind more money for me! Well okay money for the kids...like many parents this money will more than likely go into the kids savings accts. since we don't have a lot of bills---but I doubt very much that it will be spent.
Which is really too bad, because that's exactly what they are hoping for.
but what would we spend it on?
We obviousl have computers, we've got games, we've got a tv, we've got a fridge/washer/drier/dishwasher, etc. Our cars work fine. We don't want another dog (and yes that money would buy just one more dog)....
but we are supposed to blow this money in order for it to actuall help the economy...
Okay so the 'lawmakers' (i.e. congress) want to put the money into entitlement programs....what will that do for the economy? Plus if they take a look at the people who they say won't benifit--they don't make enough money to put into the coffers, so why should they get a rebate? Okay they could use the money....but that is not what this is all about....this is about spending.
Spending, spending, spending.
Bush also wants to give tax incentives to businesses....big businesses I should say....companies such as Ford, Crystler, EMI, Foxfons, etc. so that they will be able to keep their work forces. Small businesses, such as my father's, will be totally left out in the cold to fend for themselves---and they are the one's which really need the tax relief.
If you want to stimulate local economy when you don't have big business plants around you have to make it so that the local small businesses are more likely to hire the displaced personal.
Actually if they would talk to families I think they will find that everyone feels they are being over taxed totally! If we could get a break on say the cost of milk...the gas tax....domestic heating....landline phone(in our state every home must be hooked up to the network for 911 service-its the law so we have no choice)....etc. the stuff we use everyday but get gouged on. I would love to see them lock the prices of cable/satellite too, but hey, those are luxuries and if they get to expensive people can always pull them.
Of course they charge you an arm, leg, and first born to flip that little switch (I think its $70 where I'm at....they don't come get the box, we have to take it in....they don't pull the cable, it stays....but they charge you to push the button that says 'delete user')
we should find out soon though how things go.
Either way...they will play politics with it and we will all get screwed out of our money----or have to pay taxes on it.
Have you ever noticed that??? You get a tax return because they say you earned too much--but then you have to pay taxes the next year ON the money they said you over paid because you go it in a different year. It is almost best if you don't get any tax return at all.
