Okay live interview on tv says the suspect was shot but not fatally and that he will survive his wounds.
Of all the cops on scene only three returned fire on the suspect.
No cops were harmed, but they did lose one squad car in the chase.
The robbery occured at 6:45am at a TCF bank ... it sounds like a regular bank and not one of the grocery store chain-locations.
The chase went thru about 5 cities ... and the police did stop chasing when they thought that people sitting in rush hour would be in danger.
Here is a link to video of the taked down -- be aware that this is graphic. It almost looks like the man was tasered by the way he was shaking on the ground.
People (general pop) who were on the scene were kept for interviews for almost 2 hours. 2 hours! Try to explain that one to the boss - especially if you are a habitual late employee (and you know there has to be at least one in that bunch) ... about the only way to save your job would be to find some footage of your car with you in it on one of the newsreels to show your boss.
I'm waiting for the next round of news stories "bank robber takes more than money, blah-blah wrongfully dismissed from job", "worker fired after being caught in traffic", yep I'm waiting for it
