"BHUBANESWAR, India (Reuters) - An Indian woman accused of witchcraft was beaten, gagged and burnt to death in a remote eastern village, police said on Friday.Oh look ... another woman killed because .... why? Because some one died and they needed a scape goat??
The woman was dragged out of her home, her hands and legs tied and taken to a crematorium where she was set on fire in front of the village which ignored her screams for help.
The incident took place in a tribal village in Orissa and occurred last week, but came to light on Thursday with the arrest of three villagers.
The victim was murdered by the husband and relatives of a neighbour whose death was blamed on her witchcraft.
Dozens of women are killed every year on suspicion of being witches or witch doctors in India, where superstition is widespread, especially in rural areas that lack an effective schooling system."
What kind of shit is this?
This goes on all over the world -- hell it even goes on (though maybe not to quite this extent) in our own country. and NOTHING gets done.
Where is the U.N. statement making witch-practitioners a 'protected group'???
When the US gets a female president! Okay maybe not ... but you would have to admit that if the US got a woman in, it would send a lot of these countries back on their heels.
