What???

Maureen Dowd: Mincing Up Michelle - International - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News:
"Now Republicans can turn their full attention to demonizing Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama is the new, unwilling contestant in Round Two of the sulfurous national game of “Kill the witch.”"
Ms. Dowd - I don't think the Republicans EVER 'went after' Hillary because she was a woman .... they have had their own share of female senators, representatives, governors, mayors, and - yes - presidential candidates.

The problems that people have had with Hillary has been less centered on the location of her reproductive organs and more to do with her general attitude towards anyone who does not agree with her.

OMG! You have got to read this article .... here is another quote from Maureen Dowd's article:
"Just as Bill and Hillary did the “Pssst! He’s black!” thing on Barry..."
That is so unfair! Isn't that the same thing that the Priest had to apologize for??? OMG I can not believe that she would write this! i can't believe that she would Believe this!

Wait she gets better. Speaking of Barrack himself she says:
"...Unlike her husband, who wrote in his memoir that he had learned at a young age to smile and charm and disarm whites of the notion that he might be a bristly black militant, ..."
so in one sentence (well a partial one, then she goes on to speak of Michelle) she has called Barrack not only racist but a black militant -- and she's worried about what the Republican's might say????

Has this gal lost her mind??? how can she be wailing about the Republicans doing it if she is doing it first -- hee hee. What a dolt.

And Maureen - you need to watch that hand bump thing between Michelle & Barrack. You are talking about how awkward 'white' gov. are doing it with Obama now ... watch the film - it wasn't exactly a smooth move for Barrack either. he was going for the 'high 5' while Michelle was waiting for the 'bop'.

Actually I thought it was kind of 'dorky' ... and very human ... kind of like Bush dancing with Laura at the inaugeral and looking into her eyes instead of at the crowd.

I do not consider myself Republican, although I find they have more common sense than many of the Democrats I see. I live in a state where you can't sneeze without hitting a democrat ... so I know quite a few -- repubs on the other hand are a rarity.

and I've got to tell you ... I haven't heard a single comment against Michelle based on her race - or her gender - or her upbringing - or where she lives now - in fact the only thing I have heard is about her comment about America finally being something to be proud of because they had a black man running for President (before he got the official nomination).

But it wasn't so much because of the America comment (although that was one to cock the head at) it was more because in that one sentence she basically nullified the efforts of Jesse Jackson (who ran) and Al Sharpton (who also ran for President) and Alan Keyes (who ran this year on the Republican ticket).

She basically said that they were unviable candidates ... that they had absolutely no chance of winning the elections under any circumstances.

She does more of a dis-service to herself with that comment than most people think.
