Bold move!!

McCain seeks to delay debate to focus on economy:

"Republican John McCain says he's directing his staff to work with Barack Obama's campaign and the debate commission to delay Friday's debate because of the economic crisis.
In a statement, McCain says he will stop campaigning after addressing former President Bill Clinton's Global Initiative session on Thursday and return to Washington to focus on the nation's financial problems."

While I'm sure he is sincere in his wanting to get to the bottom of the financial issues ... it means a lot that he will stop campaigning until this gets under control ... well as under control as it can get.

It is also interesting that while Fox News was broadcasting the story that the reporter got a text-msg from the Obama campaign, that he read live on the air, that basically said that it was all a political move by McCain and nothing really heartfelt.

WTF!!!

How rude! Just because McCain took the reins and decided to lead the way as a real leader instead of trotting around the country .... because he took the high road before Obama its just a political move??

BUT the Obama campaign did say that they will help to delay the debate ... but they have not said that they are also going to delay the campaign. If he continues on the trail it is going to make him look really bad -- like he isn't taking the economic situation seriously which is what they tried to paint McCain with;
If he does go back, it makes it look like he's only doing it because McCain thought of it first and he wants to 'keep face' and still he looks like he isn't taking things seriously.

Now I have heard people say that this is a move from McCain to try to get back on top of the polls --- but you know what? This isn't the first time that McCain has done something like this though ... I think he genuinely is trying to do the right thing, even if it means losing the race --- he is putting the current country first.

That is the sign of a real leader!
