That money was supposed to go to help shore up the economics of America, not pay for a political machine which seems to lean way way way left and is being actively accused of fraud & identity theft, which is what it is when you register someone under someone else's name.
NUTS - How ACORN Got Me Into Vote Scam_New York PostBut then to have the organizers try to turn the fault of the fraud onto the Nevada voter board is even more disturbing. While the Nevada voter board says yes ACORN had reported that they had fired a few people who they suspected of turning in fraudulent forms, they also say that this is just the tip of the iceberg. BTW, the investigation is not being led by the Republicans as some people are accusing - it is being led by two Democrats.
... This group has been riddled with fraud charges from its very beginnings -- the vote-cowboys (my name for those who go out and round up voters) get paid per voter registered, so there is an incentive for them to lie & cheat ... in some cases steal, steal identities that is. Now there are bigger, wider allegations -- people they have sucked in are coming foward against them:"I kept getting approached by folks who asked me to register," Barkley said. "They'd ask me if I was registered. I'd say yes, and they'd ask me to do it [register] again. "Some of them were getting paid to collect names. That was their sob story, and I bought it," he said.Barkley is one of at least three people who have been subpoenaed by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections as part of a wider inquiry into possible voter fraud by ACORN. [none of the emphasises in this story are mine, they are from the original peice]
So how does Obama get into all this? While there is no direct link there are several reasons to suspect that there is aa leaning towards his favor ... why? well this bit might explain it:
Hmmm.Las Vegas Review-Journal: Alleging Fraud, authorities raid voter group:
Obama's work as a community organizer in Chicago in the early 1990s was with Project Vote, but his campaign said it was not affiliated with ACORN at the time. Obama also was part of a team of lawyers representing ACORN in 1995 in a lawsuit that accused the state of Illinois of putting up barriers to poor people trying to register. [yes this time the emphasis is mine]
So how many 'coincidences' do people need before they start seeing the clear picture????
Show me your friends, and I'll tell you who you are. [I've been trying to find who originally said this but I keep throwing craps ... any body know? I've seen it linked to proverbs and parables ... even compared to 'Birds of a feather...' but no originator. I would love to know - so share the info!]
