Last one for today I promise ....

Palin drubs Obama on abortion during Pa. rally - Yahoo! News:

"Palin says a vote for Obama is, in her words, 'a vote for activist courts that will continue to smother the open and democratic debate that we deserve and that we need on this issue of life.'"

Now see I don't take this as a 'slam' on Obama for his views on Abortion, just on the fact that the courts refuse to revisit Roe v. Wade now that there are new issues to apply to it.

There are the new medical finds, that will allow a child to be viable much sooner than it was thirty years ago.

There are issues of parental rights, 30 yrs ago mother's were favored by the courts...now father's and grandparent's are found to have rights too.

There are DNA issues ... and child support issues -- if a father has no say in the abortion issue then how can he forced to pay child support if the mother chooses not to get one?

these are issues which were not brought up in the original matter because they had not come to the forefront yet.

and then there is the ever present but often ignored fact that -- the woman in the case WANTED IT OVERTURNED, went to the Supreme Court of the US and asked that they rule the other way ... and was told 'nope'.
