Increased shoplifting is another sign of bad times - Kansas City Star: "Cahill said shoplifting has increased nearly 60 percent from mid-September through mid-December compared with the same period in 2007.
Consider it another sign of the times." It isn't as if the raise of shoplifting is in basic necessities -- the case they chose to use for the peice was the stealing of a, um, cd!!! Yes a CD, like that never went on before the economic downturn.

It is amazing how they blow things out of sorts to try to prove the point they want to have ....

I heard someone on the radio today, an economist (supposably), refer to the recent 'stock market crash' .... WHAT??? WHEN THE F DID THEY CRASH THE STOCK MARKET?

No we did not have a 'crash' ... there was no shutting down of Wall Street trading ... there was a giant wall street loss -- there was a large (some say giant depending on your location in the US) loss of jobs .... there is a backlash from people having gotten loans that they could never afford ...

but a crash? No. Not yet. but if they keep going the way they are, we might see one yet.

LISTEN TO ME -- CUT TAXES, Raise the interest rates -- that is what is going to get us out of this.

Put more money into the pockets of the consumers -- make it cost more for them to use their credit ... but put laws into place to protect the comsumer so they don't get overly charged ... keep the credit companies from destroying the flow of money.

but what they are calling signs of 'desperation' aren't really --- they are painting the facts to sale the most news stories -- and yet -- people can't see it.
