"On Monday at noon in Rome, the Vatican’s Press Office confirmed to CNA that Pope Benedict will be receiving U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in an audience at noon on Wednesday. What business does she have over in Italy other than taking a tax-payer funded 'working vacation'??
Pelosi, a self-proclaimed 'ardent Catholic' who has sparked significant criticism from fellow Catholics in the U.S. for her pro-abortion views, arrived in Italy on Sunday for an eight-day official visit."
A long time ago politicians would take trips overseas because there was no other way to communicate with each other -- now adays we have satellite, phones, television, etc. etc. -- there are plenty of options that are less costly than jetting all over the world.
And Hey -- they don't produce 1/3 the carbon footprint that taking a plane does, not to mention all the driving around from place to place.
And isn't Pelosi one of those who have been the most vocal about 'carbon emissions'?? Hmmmmm??
