Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) predicted on Thursday that none of his Senate colleagues would 'have the chance' to read the entire final version of the $790-billion stimulus bill before the bill comes up for a final vote in Congress." Okay I learned this in college and I'm sure its still true today -- very few, very few, legislatures actually read any bill themselves before voting on it.
The bills are so full of 'legalese' that the bills get filtered thru aides who read them and then explain the parts that they find relevant to them ... this means that a good bill can be made to sound bad ... and a bad bill (like this one) can be made to sound good -- it also means that parts of the bill can be omitted from the discussion all together so that the Congressman don't really know what exactly they are voting on ...
that's how they get a way with pork ... like the money going to ACORN (see any previous post labelled "Election 2008")
And LOBBIESTS count on it ... you know those people that Obama promised thru his smile that he wouldn't hire, and then filled his cabinet with a gaggle of them??
Lobbiests are the 'whores' of DC, to tell the truth ... or is it the Pimps?
