Climate vs. People ....

or more specifically - Americans - since this will not effect <strong>any</strong> other part of the world.

The President is supposed to be coming out will new standards for cars to make them more fuel effecient == surprise, surprise -- they are CALIFORNIA's standards (hmmm, wonder if Pelosi had anything to do with it?)

Now what they don't tell people is that cars in CA cost an average of $1500 MORE than in other states ... they have an issue with people going to other states, buying/registering vehicles, and then bringing them into their state.

This is an absolute move to keep people from doing this -- granted it means that people are undermining the state's efforts to lower the smog levels .... but it is really everting the Freedom of Choice that the dems love to tout about town.

So here's what we can expect:

ALL vehicles by 2015 must get 30 mpg -- sounds like they will outlaw any of the older vehicles from what I'm hearing ... so even if your BMW is still in great condtion, even if your Ford Pickup only has a bit of rust (love fords for that reason), even if your VW Beetle still has a long life behind it - you won't be able to use them. I have found nothing that says it will only be NEW cars ... all I find are references to ALL cars.

We will have to see how the President states it.

One of the ways they will get that mpg will be to use much lighter materials -- dangerous materials such as light weight alum which buckles during an impact.
