Okay so I was watching the news when I saw this poll get put up there and I could not believe what I saw/heard ... even the anchor pointed out a fact that apparently have slipped the minds of people ... let me educate you:

Responsible for Budget Deficit?
George W. Bush--46%
Dem Congress----21%
President Obama--6%
WSJ/NBC News Poll (June 18th)

So only 21% of those who took the survey actually paid attention in Social Studies!

Only CONGRESS can pass spending bills .... only congress does the spending
So the BUDGET DEFICIT is the fault of congress -- the President, no matter who he is, can ask for money, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he gets it unless congress okay's it.

Think of it this way ....

Your teenager comes to you and asks for $20, you ask what for ... if its something you like you say yes ... if not, you say no. End of story.
Your teenager comes to you and asks for $500, for nearly the same thing -- you are going to put a stop to it fairly quickly.

On the other hand congress tends to work like this:

Your teenager asks for $20, and congress decides its a good thing so ask you are reaching into your wallet - your teenager starts grabbing out money -- $10 for this, $5 because they might need that, a $1 here & there for whatever comes up ... and soon you are left with an empty wallet ...

so who's at fault? The teenager for asking ... or you for not putting the damn wallet away?
