I went and saw the video and he doesn't 'wield' the knife - which implies he is swinging it around or pulling it out of its shealth or something ... this article made it sound like he was threatening to mess up the cars/suvs with the knife and ruin their paint jobs."Ever the entertainer, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has posted a Twitter video related to the state's budget crisis in which he picks up an oversized knife and jokes about autographing state vehicles that will be auctioned to raise cash.
California is trying to close a $26 billion deficit through deep cuts to schools, universities and social programs, while furloughing state workers three days a month."
the video opens with him holding the knife, saying 'oh' as if he didn't realize that the camera was on, and then putting in down on top of a stack of papers on his desk.
There's no 'wielding' going on ... he never picks it up again from the opening moment to the end
The video is simply saying that the Governator thought it was a great idea that he sign the cars before selling them .... I'm wondering if they will clear coat the car afterwards so the siggy is permanent and won't wear off with time.
what 'sensationalism' headlines this was -- and the reason why so few people feel they can trust the national news organizations
I think its a great idea .... although .... you have to wonder, with the economy the way it is -- who's got the money to buy them.
I've been listening to the radio & watching tv these last couple of days and can't believe how many commercials I've seen/heard for businesses going out out business - "Everything MUST Go!" "No Reasonable Offer Will Be Refused!" etc.
Golf stores, RV centers, Pool/Spa places, Furniture stores, Foreclosed Homes, etc.
This may end up being the rich get there's and the poor sit back and wait.
