Instead of running out and spending money on health care, I think the government would be doing more with the money to find new cures for these diseases which have poked their heads back up ...
- Plague (the Pnuemonic & Bubonic types - the bubonic type has been used as instant-face-lifts for years now .... oops!)
- Flu (both the Spanish & Swine flu are making a comeback)
- Polio
- Lepersi
- TB
- Chagas Disease (spread by insects - then a person itchs and lets the infection into their system)
- Hook Worms (remember your mother yelling at you for going bare foot?)
They feel part of the problem is the growing lower class, since it seems like those of lower SES seem to get it the worse ... but these diseases are growing at such a rate that this may not be the case for much longer.
Time to pull out the old bits of wisdom - shoes when there is an 'R' in the month and definately in public, no spitting on the streets, cutting back on water fountains (yes they are a haven for germs), STAY HOME WHEN YOUR SICK, you know, those things.
I'm betting the Lysol people are pretty happy - they will be selling tons of the stuff soon enough.
